Thierry and I went to see Arsenal vs Blackburn today.   The day started well and we had a laugh having a photo done with a virtual Lukas Podolski.

Yet despite most of the possession Arsenal lost the game 1-0 and it was the first time under Arsene Wenger that Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup to a lower division team

A bad result and we need to see a positive reaction from the team for the Bayern Munich game on Tuesday.

Arsenal 1 – Leeds United 0 FA Cup 3rd Round, The Emirates 9th January 2012

And we were there !!

Arsenal blogger Arseblog said today;

If you saw it live you’ll never forget it. There’s no qualifying it, there’s no putting it in any other context other than the one in which we all saw it, there’s no downplaying it. It was perfect, beautiful. Arsenal needed a goal to win a game last night, a legend came off the bench and scored it. As I said above, if that doesn’t push all your buttons I suspect your mechanics need tinkering with.

And I totally agree with him. Very few words can describe the emotions of yesterday. For me it was 40 years ago that my first memories of being a gooner were forged , watching Arsenal lose to Leeds United in the ’72 cup final. Last night, with my gooner lad Thierry next to me on the North Bank we watched a true legend score right in front of us against a Leeds team to put them out of the FA Cup. No apologies… it was a fantastic experience.

What an amazing season so far. We’ve been at the Emirates to see Robin van Persie score his 100th goal for Arsenal and Thierry Henry return and score his 227th goal for the club.

Thierry’s take was slighty different, as he says in his own words

I went to the football match and I got to see Thierry Henry play for his first game . I had Pepsi . We had to wait a long time to get to the station .

Here’s Thierry getting into good voice;

And some other memories of the evening;
